Setting up TypeAssist AI

After installing from the App Store, add the keyboard once and you're ready to go:

  1. Open Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards.
  2. Tap Add New Keyboard… and choose TypeAssist AI.
  3. Tap TypeAssist AI in the list and turn on Allow Full Access.
  4. In any app, tap and hold the 🌐 globe key to switch to TypeAssist AI.

Why Full Access? TypeAssist AI needs Full Access to read the text you select and send it to the AI service so it can be rewritten. Without it, iOS blocks the keyboard from reading or replacing your text.

How do I use TypeAssist AI to rewrite text?
  1. Select the text you want to change in any app.
  2. Switch to the TypeAssist AI keyboard using the 🌐 globe key.
  3. Choose an action — Grammar, Tone, Translate, Improve, Shorten or Expand.
  4. Review the result and tap Replace to swap your text in place.
The keyboard isn't detecting my selected text. What do I do?
This almost always means Full Access is off. Go to Settings › General › Keyboard › Keyboards › TypeAssist AI and turn on Allow Full Access. If it's already on, try re-selecting the text, or toggle Full Access off and on again.
Is TypeAssist AI free? What's included in Premium?
You can try TypeAssist AI to see how it works. Premium unlocks unlimited transformations across all actions, tones and languages. You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
Which languages are supported?
13 languages: English, Bangla, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Russian and Indonesian. Every action works across all of them.
Does TypeAssist AI record everything I type?
No. TypeAssist AI does not log your keystrokes. Text is only sent for processing when you actively tap an AI action on the selected text. Nothing runs in the background. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Why does the AI action take a moment?
When you tap an action, your selected text is sent to the AI service, rewritten, and returned. This usually takes a second or two depending on your connection and the length of the text.
Which apps does it work in?
TypeAssist AI works in most apps that use the standard iOS text system — Messages, Mail, Notes, Safari, and popular third-party apps. Some apps with heavily customized text fields may behave differently.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone, select TypeAssist AI, and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Premium until the end of the current billing period.
